Current Scenario:- We see puppies dying or getting injured on streets. We see them in poor condition. I HAVE SEEN 2 PUPPIES DIE UNDER CARS THIS MONTH. What can we do ? A possible solution could be as described under. The problem is also that these puppies die on the spot if they are hit badly. We possibly cant save them all after accidents or mishaps or any other diseases.
Plan:- First we divide pune in 100 areas. Then for each area we assign 2 members. Each member will make a note of all the dogs and puppies in that area. For puppies he will take out pics and make sure they are put up for adoptions. Then for dogs and bitches he will call up blue cross or jeev raksha or any such ngo who can operate the dogs to control birth of puppies on streets in the area assigned to him. Also plz make sure that these dogs are identified properly after their operation. After the operation the ngo would release these dogs and bitches in the same area where they were picked from. The two volunteers will have to coordinate for the entire process with the concerned ngo. Also we can ask the ngo's to give these dogs a rabbies vaccine.
Implementation:- This process has been started by me. I have completed the first step. The second step is in process. I have taken up this plan for ketkar road / the area surrounding Kamla nehru park. We have successfully neutered 2 mothers and unfortunately the 3rd one has passed away because of rabies or tetanus.
